The Discarded hit the stage last weekend for the EP Release, Manifesto  show in true rock and roll style. The small and quaint venue didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits or enjoyment of the event and added to the feel of the family band providing with a friendly, and family oriented environment for the all age show which showcased The Discard (a father and two son band). With their matching bowling shirts, all monogrammed with their own names and their logo, they hit the stage and made everyone feel excited and ready to enjoy their performance. Their earnest interaction with the crowd, their sense of humour and appreciation for all those who attended and all those who helped them get to that day (the release of the EP) was palpable and if nothing else, heartwarming.

The limited stage space certainly didn’t stop the band from performing their hearts out and showing their personality and sound proudly. Their expressive and energetic rock had a unique sound to it which beckoned you to listen to the lyrics with their educational twist on rock music and the spirit of rebellious rock and roll which always reminds you to question everything and take nothing at face value. The crowed filled the room allowing for little room to be had at the venue as fans, friends and family all pilled into the small space to support and enjoy this unique band’s wonderful music talent and rarely seen family cohesiveness and love for one another as the father and two teenage boys performed their hearts out. The band treated the crowed to the songs from their new EP as well as some their older songs which spoke a similar theme of separating from societal norms and getting trapped in the cycle that is our society’s financial system. It goes without saying that this band puts on a performance and if ever there is a chance to see them live, it is a show worth attending and enjoying to its fullest!
